To You, With Love

Our contribution to the community over the last year includes over 3000 patient visits at Evolve and hundreds more during our Community Acupuncture Benefit events. These benefit events have raised hundreds of dollars for our partnered local non-profits in support of the work they do to better our community. Our next one will be on January 4th to benefit the Bowery Mission. In addition to monetary donations, we will be accepting new and gently used coats, socks, and other items to help our fellow New Yorkers make it through the winter. Please see below for further details.

In the last year, we trained dozens of practitioners in our Continuing Education and Post-Graduate Professional Classes both at Evolve in NYC and across the US. We had seven professionals enrolled in our Clinical Fellowship Program, one of whom has joined us as a full-time clinician. We are very lucky to have Xin Tao, a fellow since 2018, one of the most sincere people I have had the pleasure of knowing, and a very thoughtful clinician.

Other additions to the clinic include: the kind and compassionate Riana Moore to our administrative team, and the much-anticipated return of Dr. Christina Ippolito – spine specialist and anatomy enthusiast extraordinaire – to our clinical team.

In our community classes, we continue to provide Qi Gong classes on a donation basis, and have moved to offer these classes at low-cost donation to free. Dr. Mai has been working with the Bowery Residents’ Committee to provide Dao Yin classes for the elderly, and Dr. Butler has been teaching Xing Yi martial arts classes in the tradition and in honor of his teacher, Ken Ark Fung Gong. We continue to invite practitioners of all areas of movement to share what they love with the community.

We just celebrated our year-end holiday party with our annual white elephant gift exchange. The most sought-after offering was a giant shell and palo santo, which was taken home by Dr. Frank Butler, aka Poseiden himself. We might have to give the shell a permanent home in the clinic so that everyone can enjoy it. 🙂

We have some exciting things to share with you this coming year. Be on the lookout for several new additions to the clinic, including a digital and physical makeover!

Here’s to 2020, everyone!
